Paul attended Wake Forest University for two years. Paul was born in Winston-Salem, where Wake Forest is located.

In 2004, Paul led Wake Forest to the Sweet 16, losing to St. Joseph’s. In 2004, Paul and Wake Forest lost in the second round. Paul went to the NBA after his Second season at Wake Forest.

3) Where Was Chris Paul Selected in the 2005 NBA draft?

Paul was selected fourth overall by New Orleans in 2005. Andrew Bogut went first overall that year. This draft also incluced Deron Williams, Andrew Bynum, and Danny Granger who all went on to have solid NBA careers. Paul has definitely had the best career out of any of them though.

This is False as Paul did win the NBA Rookie of The Year Award for 2005–06. He was just one vote shy of winning the award unanimously. Charlie Villanueva and Deron Williams were two other names who were considered but Paul won by a landslide.

Chris Paul was born on May 6th, 1985 to Charles and Robin Paul. Charles worked in security and also worked as a coach.

Chris has a brother named C.J, who was born in 1983. He played college basketball at Hampton University in Virginia. CJ and Chris once played against one another in college.

As kids, Chris and C.J both worked at the service station that was owned by their grandfather, Nathanial Jones. In 2002, Jones was murdered at the age of 61. He was jumped by five young men and beaten with lead pipes for his wallet. Chris later said in an interview that he thinks the young boys responsible deserved a second chance. This came after they had been locked up in prison for several years for the incident.

Chris married Jada Crawley on September 10th, 2011. According to Essense, Lebron James served as a groomsman for the wedding. Lebron’s wife Savannah also served as one of Jada’s bridesmaids. Other big-name wedding guests included Ludacris, Dwayne Wade, Kevin Hart, Carmelo Anthony, LaLa Anthony, and Gabrielle Union.

Chris and Jada have a son named Chris II (born in 2009) and a daughter named Camryn (born in 2012).

Contracts & Career Earnings

In 2018, Chris signed a 4-year contract extension with the Houston Rockets worth around $159 million. The final year of that contract (2021-22) will pay him a massive $44 million.

If Paul plays until 2022, he will have earned over $346 million in salary over his career. That is strictly his salary from the NBA and doesn’t include any of his endorsements or business ventures.

According to Forbes, Paul ranked 24th on the list of the highest-paid athletes of 2019.
